Experience fighters not only know how to preserve their energy, but also to fatigue their opponents during fight or competition.
REST TECHNIQUES DURING A FIGHT:
1. Keeping distance and staying out of grip/ clinch.
2. Performing fake technique attempts, without implementing strength.
3. Relaxation and staying heavy over opponent, when he is unable to attack.
4. Transfer the load to other muscle groups (leg actions should overcome hands actions)
METHODS TO FATIGUE THE OPPONENT:
1. Establishing grip/clinch uncomfortable for the opponent, forcing him to waste a lot of energy to escape.
2. Load your body weight, so he has to constantly overcome the force of gravity with his muscles. If his muscles are forced to work in static (isometric) mode, the fatigue will come faster.
3. Keep the opponent in such position, so his breathing is obstructed (in pin, stacked, his body bended, etc.)
4. Push-pull and fake attacks keep the opponent in constant tension.
EXERCISES TO TARGET THE ISSUE:
1. Free sparring with condition – bringing opponent to fatigue:
The coach gives condition not to look for finishes but to bring the opponent to fatigue with no time limit. The athlete who get tired and is unable to continue the sparring is considered lost
2. Option is also to require athletes to use methods to fatigue the opponent in further trainings and sparring. For this exercise the athletes should be paired with less or equally experienced training partners.
