At 28.09.2024 was held BULMMAF MMA National Championship at Gorna Oryahovica, Bulgaria. Our team participated with ten athletes:
Emil Enchev – vice-champion Youth A/ Bantamweight 61.2 kg
Daniel Vradzhaliev – medalist Youth A/ Lightweight 70.3 kg
Kristian Nedkov – Champion of Bulgaria Youth A/ Lightweight 70.3 kg with four submissions in each match
Denislav Kokalanov – Youth A/ Welterweight 77.1 kg
Iliyan Ivanov – Juniours/ Featherweight 65.8 kg
Geo-Angel Gatev – medalist Juniours/ Featherweight 65.8 kg
Stoyan Andonov – medalist Bantamweight 61.2 kg
Yoan Kochev – medalist Lightweight 70.3 kg
Blagovest Georgiev – vice-champion Lightweight 70.3 kg
Petur Pavlov – Champion of Bulgaria Super Lightweight 74.8 kg with two first round TKO’s and awarded for best athlete over 18 years

Our team disagree with this referee stoppage. We understand that referee job is to protect the athletes, but in the same time, as seen from the video, there was barely any damage taken from Iliyan in this early exchange.

Geo-Angel made a very good fight against tough opponent, managed to execute the game plan and just details kept him away from finishing that fight. He showed he is on the right path of development, with a lot of capabilities and talent. After the competition he was back in the gym on the first training session.

Stoyan has his moments in stand up and also ground game. This time his opponent was the better fighter.

Yoan’s girlfriend survived a nasty car crash on the way to the competition to watch him fighting. He took coach’s car, to take her and to deal with the car crash situation. Came back, jump into the cage and fought. On top of that it was his birthday. Mountain boys are tough as nails.

Blagovest performed good. Showed he is already dangerous in standup as well with masterful liver kick TKO.

Petur became Champion of Bulgaria with two first round TKO’s and was awarded for best athlete over 18 years. His final opponent was a decorated wrestler – champion of legendary Dan Kolov tournament in 2023
